Family Nurse Practitioner

Captain Chris Laurent, is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the
American Nurses Credentialling Center (ANCC). He specializes in Family Practice providing
comprehensive care with compassion for persons of all ages without exception and is accepting new patients with the Reed Medical Group.

Captain Laurent’s military career in the United States Navy took him to numerous duty stations on the East and West Coast, in addition to Southeast Asia, Southwest Asia, Cuba, Kuwait, Iraq, and Somalia. He spent over half of his military career in medical support of the United States Marine Corps until he retired in 2004. 

After retirement, Christopher was employed at a Rural Health Clinic and Critical Access Hospital in a remote area of the White Mountains, New Hampshire. He served as a Primary Care Provider and Head of the Medicine Department overseeing the Hospital Medicine, Cardiology, and Emergency Medicine departments. In addition to his responsibilities as a Primary Care Provider, he provided coverage as a Hospitalist, Nursing Home Provider, and Clinical Director for a substance abuse treatment program. 

Captain Laurent has functioned as a licensed independent practitioner in Family Medicine for over 30 years. He retired from his practice in New Hampshire and relocated to Longboat Key where him and his wife, Donna, have lived for over four years.
