Following residency, he completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship in 2018. He graduated from University of Medicine and Health Sciences-St. Kitts completing his medical school training in which he completed clinicals in Chicago, IL.
Dr. Schutzbach grew up in New Lenox, Illinois and spent much of his youth playing baseball, basketball, soccer, football and waterskiing. He played college baseball as a left-handed pitcher and graduated from Western Michigan University. After his college baseball career was over, he found himself outdoors; hiking, rock climbing and running.
Dr. Schutzbach practices full-scope family medicine and brings his experiences to help guide patients to meet their health care goals. He has cared for patients in the inpatient, outpatient, urgent care and on the sideline. Dr. Schutzbach has made it his mission to spend the time explaining to his patients in terms they can understand. He approaches treatment as a blend of medical gold standard treatments as well as using alternative treatment approaches when needed in order to provide the best care for patients.
